Concerning Moses Claiborne M.D. of Johnstown Pennsylvania

I’m contacting you about a doctor Moses Claiborne who practice in that area for 45 years, to whom I am a family member researching a family tree. I would like for any information, Pictures and of his practice for access as is related to him and or any family members still possibly located there if known.

Thank you for you assistance.

Curtis Hunter Jr, great great grand nephew of: Moses Claiborne. (unseenhands7@gmail.com)

I am researching my 3rd great grandmother and am trying to find her death records. I know from 1906 forward they are online, but pre-1906 they are normally with the county. Annie passed in Johnstown, Cambria County in 1902 and I have provided information below.

Anna M Younkin
BIRTH 07 OCT 1832 • Lower Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA
DEATH 07 JAN 1902 • Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA

Do you know a resource that I can contact for help? I am more than happy to pay for time spend and research costs.

Thank you,

Eric Sloan (eric_b_sloan@hotmail.com)

I was referred to you by Mark Minerd from his minerd.com website.  I am in need of genealogy help and will compensate for time and materials.

I am trying to find information about my 3rd great grandmother, Annie M. Kantner.  Her maiden name is Younkin.  I do not know her middle name.  I would like to establish a link to her parents and her siblings.

Specifically I am hoping to find her obituary, marriage record and / or death certificate.  I have done an extensive search using newspapers.com, the Library of Congress Chronicling America website and GenealogyBank.com without finding any articles.

I have all of the census records I could find for her, her husband and their children on Ancestry.com.  I have found many death certs for their children listing her maiden name as Younkin.  The information I have for Anna is as follows:

Anna (Ann or Annie) M Younkin
BIRTH 07 OCT 1832 • Lower Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA
DEATH 07 JAN 1902 • Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA
She married Joseph H Kantner Sr in 1850. They had 13 children in 23 years. She died on January 7, 1902, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, at the age of 69, and was buried in Stoystown, Pennsylvania.

Spouse: Joseph H Kantner Sr - 1828–1904

Their 13 children are as follows:
• Charles E Kantner 1852–1918
• Sarah Ellen Kantner 1853–1906
• Mary E Kantner 1855–
• Margaret (Maggie) (Mary) Kantner 1856–1919
• Emma E Kantner 1857–1900
• John F Kantner 1860–1928 (My 2nd great grandfather)
• Joseph H Kantner Jr 1862–1928
• Lucy Kantner 1864–1935
• Harry Grant Kantner 1868–1952
• Annie Kantner 1871–
• Carrie Grace Kantner 1872–1918
• Lillian (Lillie) Kantner 1873–1913
• Howard Kantner 1875–1883

The questions I have are as follows:

  1. Do you know a resource that can help me?
  2. Does Cambria Country hold death certs for 1902?  I know 1906 are online at Ancestry, but pre-1906 seem to be available (or not) on a county-by-county basis.
  3. Is the Johnstown newspaper available for the timeframe she died to search for an obit?
  4. What about the Turkeyfoot News newspapers of the 1902 era which might generate something?  Even a one-liner such as “ABC Younkin received a telegraph of the death of his sister Anna Kantner in Johnstown...”

Thank you for reading this and any assistance you can provide.  I live on the west coast in CA, so my ability to get to the library in person presents a challenge.
